North Campus Bus Stop Relocation
Study & Design

TEC is proud to have completed this ACEC-MA award-winning project for UMass Lowell with planning and design services for the relocation of the North Campus Bus Stop from University Avenue to a new site. Our team evaluated 13 project sites based on future demand, pedestrian access, impacts to traffic flow, and impacts to neighborhoods and construction costs. The University’s Executive Board unanimously endorsed our team’s recommendation for a new North Campus bus stop that moved swiftly from concept to construction to take advantage of the summer construction period in 2014.

Strategic Development Plan MEPA Update

TEC was chosen by UMass Lowell’s Campus Planning Department to provide permitting strategy, traffic analysis, and reporting to the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) office as part of the Notice of Project Change. Our summary of historic traffic volumes on the surrounding city streets, the description of current TDM activities and transit accommodations, and mode split analysis was helpful in securing MEPA’s endorsement of the permitting approach and the University’s consistency with prior permits.
