Duck Mill Redevelopment
TEC provided professional engineering services for the redevelopment of this five-story, 132,000-sf mixed-use property. Duck Mill at Union Crossing project, transformed a historic underutilized mill building into a vibrant site of 73 family-friendly apartments and 35,000 sf of commercial space. The project posed many challenges that we were able to foster into successful completion. These included challenging local and state permitting, coordination with multiple adjacent projects, and a tight budget and strict schedule. The redevelopment and construction of the site work was especially daunting due to the fact that the new parking area and utilities were constructed in the same location as previously demolished mill buildings. TEC provided construction oversight and assisted the contractor with many layout modifications to overcome unforeseen obstacles.
